Sketches For Decktet
Ongoing project
Sketches For Decktet is an idea for a band that formed inside my head around October 2007.
The idea involves a double quintet (two percussion, two basses, two pianos and four clarinets) performing much like a DJ would perform using a set of turntables. Whilst one quintet plays, the other 'cues up' the next track. They play alternately, mixing one song into another. And so on. I've been loosely sketching some ideas of what this could sound like, and am now looking for London-based musicians to help try them out.
